A ‘Man with a Golden Heart’ Ratan Tata turns 86 today

A well established business tycoon Ratan Tata turns 86 today. He took over as the Chairman of the Tata Group in 1991. He is born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai to Naval Tata and Sooni Tata.
He became part of the Tata group as an assistant in Tata Industries in 1962 and trained for six months at the Jamshedpur plant of Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company, which is now known as Tata Motors. He later worked at Tisco, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and also served as Chairman of Air India from 1986 to 1989.
Ratan Tata did his schooling at Campion School and later went to The Cathedral and John Connon School and Bishop Cotton School, Shimla. For higher education, he studied at the the Cornell University College of Architecture. He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School.
Ratan Tata has been awarded with two highest civilian awards of India — the Padma Vibhushan (2008) and Padma Bhushan (2000) — for his immeasurable contributions towards nation-building. He has written books like “From Steel To Cellular” and “The Wit & Wisdom of Ratan Tata”.
Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Heartiest birthday greetings to the legendary Shri Ratan Tata ji! May this day be a celebration of your remarkable journey, filled with cherished moments. With utmost admiration for your invaluable contributions, wishing you a long life and good health!”
