A step to World Record of 32 hours of non-stop classical dance

The Feat was organised by Kolkata International Dance Festival in collaboration with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan at the same venue i.e. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Over 1,600 classical dancers performed 32 hours of non-stop dance at one stage and made an attempt at setting a world record.
The dancers came from different parts of the country like Delhi, Assam, Chhattisgarh and some from the districts and nearby areas with a prospect of a world record.
There were groups as well as individual dancers representing all eight classical forms of India. Audience was mesmerized with the performances representing the various dance form style Bharatanatyam, kathak, kuchipudi, odissi and mohiniyattam and one performance was from a single kathakali dancer and a few Sattriya and Manipuri dancers. The inauguration also saw goudiya nritya- a Bengal’s folk dance form.
