Cyclone Michaung Anticipation to hit in  Chennai

Cyclone Michaung is anticipated to hit the severe part of Chennai leaving Chennai submerged due to heavy rainfall and waterlogging which turns it into severe cyclonic storm.
The IMD predicted heavy rainfall in the area for the next year 24 hours
The Cyclone will move parallel to the coast of North Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, crossing Nellore- Machilipatnam.
 
 
Tamil Nadu Government to Private Enterprises
 
Tamil Nadu Government requested the employees of private enterprises  and establishments in four districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancherpur and Changelpattu to work from home on 5th December to avoid heavy rains and it’s impact.
 
Airports Authority of India in the call of Cyclone 
 
Both departure and arrival operations have been suspended at Chennai Airport till 11 p.m. in the call of the Cyclone.
 
Updates by Regional Meteorological Centre
 
The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecasted that many places of State would receive rains till Wednesday. 
A red- colour coded warning has been issued for Tiruvallur district due to the possibility of occurrence of heavy rainfall over one or two places till 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday 
 
Services of suburban trains 
 
The services of suburban trains in the Chennai suburban sections were temporarily halted due to the heavy rainfall and waterlogging until 8 am on Monday Morning. Only Passenger Specials will be operated. 
 
Appeal of Cheif Minister to the people. 
 
MK Stalin, The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has appealed the people to stay indoors until the storm abates.
 
Witness of Crocodile on the roads of Perungalathur
 
A crocodile is spotted crawling on the side on the roads of city Perungalathur during the night making the situation more worse for the people.
 
Setting up of 181 Relief Camps
 
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh addressed that the government has set up 181 relief camps in eight districts of the state to combat the impact of severe cyclonic storm. 
 
Step up of Indian Army in Cyclone Michaung 
 
Rescue Operation has been initiated by 12 Madras unit of Indian Army to rescue the people from Mugalivakkam and Manapakkam areas in Chennai affected by waterlogging and heavy rainfall. 
 
 
Educational Institutions to be closed
 
The government of Tamil Nadu said that all the educational institutions will remain closed on Tuesday in Chennai due to heavy rainfall.
