England’s Dawid Malan Retires from International Cricket

Dawid Malan, England’s former No.1-ranked T20I batter, has announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 37. Malan told British newspaper The Times of London that he exceeded expectations with his success in the white-ball game but was disappointed that he couldn’t handle the intensity of Test cricket. He played 22 Tests as well as 30 ODIs and 62 T20 internationals. It was in the T20 game where he excelled, becoming No. 1 in the batting rankings in 2020 and winning the T20 World Cup in 2022.The left-hander last featured in the team in the 2023 ODI World Cup in India.Malan made his debut for the England National Cricket Team in T20Is in 2017 and took no time to make an impact. He scored 78 from 44 against South Africa and then after that carried his success in Tests as well. He hit a magnificent ton against Australia, ending with an innings of 140 from 227 balls in Perth.
