National Friendship Day 2024

Friends are the roots that bring joy and support into our lives. Friendship Day is celebrated to honor the special bond of friendship that enriches our lives. It is a time to express our appreciation for those who stand by us through thick and thin. It encourages us to reconnect with old friends, mend strained relationships, and spend quality time with those who matter most. By doing so, we contribute to each other’s mental and emotional health. Friendship is one of life’s greatest treasures. Friends are the family we choose for ourselves, standing by us with understanding and laughter. In India, Friendship Day will be observed on August 4, 2024, the first Sunday of August. The concept of Friendship Day has its roots in the early 20th century. Joyce Hall, the founder of Hallmark Cards, is credited with proposing the idea of dedicating a day to friendship. Hall’s vision was to create an occasion for people to express gratitude and appreciation for their friends. People exchange gifts, friendship bracelets, cards, and plan holidays together. People also greet each other ‘Happy Friendship Day’ and circulate friendship day messages over social media platforms.
