Ravi Bishnoi climbed top in T20I bowling rankings

India’s legspinner Ravi Bishnoi has climbed top in ICC T20I bowling rankings on the back of his Player-of-the-Series winning performance against Australia.He had claimed nine wickets in five games in that series. By
He has jumped five places to displace Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan from the top slot.
Bishnoi is the second Indian to now hold the No.1 spot in the T20I rankings as Suryakumar Yadav is still the top-ranked batter.
As a part of his background, he comes from a remote village in Rajasthan. In his initial playing days, there was no real cricket academy. With the help of his coaches and friends, he set up a cricket academy.

With a lot of hard work and few rejections, Bishnoi finally made it to Rajasthan’ s U-19 squad. His breakthrough though came in 2020 when he played for India at the Under-19 World Cup 2020. He grabbed 17 wickets and ended up as the highest-wicket taker in the tournament.
Owing to his spectacular performance, he was acquired by Punjab for the Indian T20 League in 2020. He was roped in by Lucknow for the 2022 edition.
In January 2022, Bishnoi was named in India’s ODI and T20I squad against West Indies. He made his T20I debut against West Indies and grabbed two wickets helping India to win that game. He was awarded the Player of the Match on his debut.
