New Delhi Hosts Two-Week ‘VIRAASAT’ Exhibition to mark 10th National Handloom Day

“VIRAASAT” is a fortnight long exhibition marked to celebrate the 10th National Handloom Day which has begun at Handloom Haat in Janpath on Saturday, 3rd August, 2024. National Handloom Development Corporation Ltd (NHDC) is organising the handloom expo under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India which will conclude on 16th August, 2024. The exhibition serves as a tribute to India’s vibrant handloom tradition and offers a platform for handloom weavers and artisans to connect directly with consumers. The exhibition features a variety of handloom products from exotic locations across the country, available for both display and purchase.The event will be open daily from 11 AM to 8 PM, offering visitors a chance to explore 75 stalls showcasing the finest handloom creations where handloom weavers and artisans will directly sell their wares, exquisite Indian handlooms on display, workshops on natural dyes, Kasturi cotton, design, and exports, live loom demonstrations, folk dances, delicious regional cuisines and more.. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently highlighted the significance of handloom artisans in his Mann Ki Baat broadcast, praising their work and urging people to share photos of local products on social media with the hashtag #MyProductMyPride.
